How can I manage my bank connections?

Brex uses connected bank accounts to help determine your company’s credit limit. Admins can connect additional bank accounts, remove or fix a current connection, and verify which accounts are currently connected, all from the Brex dashboard.

Add new bank connections

Connecting additional bank accounts is one way to positively impact your credit limit. It only takes a few easy steps to add a bank connection!

Step 1: Navigate to Settings.

Step 2: Click the Connected accounts tab.

Step 3: Click Add connection on the right side.

Step 4: Follow the prompts to enter your online banking credentials.

Remove bank connections

Remember that your Brex credit limit is determined in part by the cash balances in your connected bank accounts. Removing a connection without adding another one could have a negative impact on your credit limit.

If you'd like to remove a connection, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings.

Step 2: Select Connected accounts.

Step 3: Find the account you would like to disconnect.

Step 5: Click the three dots on the right.

Step 6: Select Remove connection.

View connected bank accounts

Because Brex connects to your bank via your online login credentials, multiple bank accounts may be related to one connection. You can view the names and the last four digits of the account numbers of each one by following the steps below.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings.

Step 2: Select Connected accounts.

Step 3: Click the three dots on the right.

Step 5: Select View all accounts.

Fix a current connection

There are various reasons why you might need to reestablish a bank connection. Some examples include:
  • Your credentials have recently changed.
  • Your bank logged you out for security reasons.
  • You are logged in to your bank account on too many devices at one time
If one of your connections has gone stale or completely disconnected, we'll highlight the account with a red Fix connection note in your dashboard settings. You can resolve this following the steps below.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings.

Step 2: Click Connected accounts.

Step 3: Click Fix connection under the account that needs to be reconnected and then Reconnect.

Note: If at any time you receive an email from Brex stating that your connection between your business bank account and Brex was recently lost, check if there is a Fix connection link in your dashboard. If not, check the last sync date on the connection to see if the connection has synced in the previous week. If the last sync date is over a week ago, you'll need to delete the connection and re-add the connection.
