How do I block ACH debits from my Brex Cash account?

Brex Cash & Card Admins and Cash Users can prevent unwanted ACH debits by managing which counterparties are authorized to pull funds from the Brex Cash account. Whenever an unauthorized ACH debit is attempted, all Cash & Card Admins and Cash Users will be notified via email.

There are two ways to configure your account:
  • Allowing debits from all counterparties unless they are specifically blocked
  • Blocking debits from all counterparties unless they are specifically trusted
This can be managed by Cash Admins and Users from the Brex dashboard.

Step 1: Go to Settings in your Brex dashboard

Step 2: Under the Company tab, find the Payments section to toggle on or off the Only allow debits from trusted counterparties setting; this will determine if you will manage a list of blocked counterparties or trusted counterparties

Step 3: Select either edit blocked counterparties or edit trusted counterparties to view your list of counterparties; Select the three dots next to the counterparty to Modify or Delete

Step 4: Select Add to define a new counterparty by entering their name and unique ACH ID and click Continue to save that counterparty to your list

You can also block or trust counterparties from the Cash Transactions tab. This can be helpful if you do not know the ACH ID for the counterparty.

Step 1: Select the transaction from the counterparty you would like to block or trust

Step 2: Click the three dots on the right-hand side of the transaction details

Step 3: Select either Trust counterparty or Block counterparty

Brex's trusted counterparty feature relies on ACH IDs supplied by users. Some counterparties may attempt to debit your account from multiple ACH IDs, including ones that have not been blocked.
